We believe decentralizing cloud services is necessary for ensuring a fair, open, and safe future for humanity and its data.
File storage should be simple, inexpensive, and secure. We want to share our expertise and take the headache out of storage. We’re currently working on Tombolo, software and services tailored to enterprise customers’ file storage needs. We enable businesses and organizations to easily store their data on the decentralized cloud.
Banyan aggregates storage providers and introduces simple cryptoeconomic incentives to make data worth storing in the web3 era. The core team have deep relevant experience in cryptography and finance, and are alumni of the University of Chicago.
Banyan is a decentralized bridge and storage DAO, built to store files safely and trustlessly in the distributed cloud. Akin to NFT.storage or web3.storage, our infrastructure will upload files from L1s like Ethereum, Solana, and Binance to storage options like Filecoin and IPFS, under carefully-designed incentives to ensure files are protected long-term. Our expansion plan is to start by being the long-term storage solution for L2s' transaction history, then to corner the market for all Metaverse uploads to Filecoin, Sia, and Arweave, from chains with DeFi and NFT ecosystems, starting with Chainlink-compatible ones like Ethereum and Polygon.
We are a US-Based Protocol Labs Network company, we're in Startup with Chainlink, and we recently joined ySprout, a tech incubator program with Yearn.finance. We are a small, tight-knit team, with seed funding led by Polychain.
