Sebastian Quinn is Co-Founder and CEO at Yieldly and Yesports. An entrepreneur with a history of building and supporting the growth of some of the largest distributed ledger technology (DLT) and decentralized finance (DeFi) companies, his portfolio features the likes of Bluzelle and Power Ledger.
Sebastian studied Applied Finance, Commerce, Economics, and Accounting at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia then earned his Juris Doctor of Law at the University of New South Wales before then being admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Professionally, Sebastian initially spent over four years working at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, working first on trading across the Australian water markets and then as an M&A lawyer out of Sydney and Beijing. Following that, Sebastian founded his first company, First Point Ventures — a private investment and advisory firm focused on early-stage technology, which is still in operation today. Sebastian then worked in an advisory capacity for several successful blockchain and crypto projects that First Point invested in. These included decentralized data network Bluzelle, an AI and blockchain accelerator for NASDAQ-listed JD.com, and Ethereum sidechain Simple Token. Additionally, Sebastian spent over three years advising Power Ledger, a blockchain-enabled trading platform for energy and environmental commodities, and Nuggets — a digital identity and payment platform. Lastly, Sebastian advises Snickerdoodle Labs, a company building a secure data economy using blockchain technology.
In August 2020, Sebastian founded Yieldly, the first DeFi platform built on the Algorand blockchain. Yieldly offers the highest rewards on Algorand for some 35,000+ active monthly users with an all time high TVL of $150m. More recently, Sebastian founded Yesports, the world’s largest Web 3.0 engagement platform for esports. Founded in August of 2021, the project already has some of the world's biggest professional esports teams on board. Fans of esports will be able to directly engage with their heroes via a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace and a Web3 social engagement platform.
I was introduced to Tess by mutual friends in the Valley and she immediately came across as someone who is knowledgeable and savvy across different business industries and verticals.
