Potter Lu is a promising young leader who co-founded Blockchain@USC in 2018 and is the Co-Founder of EthSign, while still studying at USC. Tess Ventures is proud to mentor, coach and invest in Potter.
Potter Li is a serial entrepreneur and is the co-founder of EthSign - the first-ever startup funded by all three Sequoia entities. His background is in Applied mathematics, blockchain and finance, having prior experiences at Morgan Stanley and Fundamental Labs. His deep passion led him to build Blockchain at USC to cultivate the next generation of individuals in blockchain. Starting EthSign at the age of 20, Potter dropped out of USC to focus on building Web 3.0. He has been involved in the crypto space since early 2017 and has since innovated many different ideas which benefit the Web 3.0 community. He also invests in and advises other Web 3.0 projects that promote the worldwide adoption of crypto.
Tess has been an incredible asset to EthSign since she invested in our company. Her experience in both Web2 and Web3, as well as her global network, have been invaluable to us as we continue to grow and scale. From the moment we met, Tess impressed me with her knowledge, energy, and strategic thinking. She has been instrumental in helping us navigate the world of venture capital and has provided us with invaluable advice on everything from product development to marketing strategy.
One of the things that sets Tess apart from other investors is her willingness to roll up her sleeves and get involved in the day-to-day operations of her portfolio companies. She truly cares about the success of each of her investments and treats them as if they were her own. With EthSign, she has been incredibly hands-on, providing us with introductions to key players in the Web3 space and helping us to forge partnerships with other companies in the ecosystem.
Tess has also been a great sounding board for me personally as a founder. She has a wealth of experience as an entrepreneur herself, having founded and sold her first company while still in college. Her “Tessisms” have been a source of inspiration for me as I navigate the ups and downs of building a startup. She has taught me the importance of staying focused, being resilient, and always thinking strategically. We are forever grateful.
